I did a WIP of this mini mosaic. I should copy and paste it in a journal entree to have it here.
Size 2.5X3.5 inches.
I used the same tools as before; tooth pick, clear nail enamel, and paper flecks. The only difference is that I used a black sharpie for the background, and had to improvise the color of the vase with acrylic ink on paper rather then the magazine color I usually use. The vase has a little more chroma then I wanted it to.
You can't see the effect in the scan, but I had a little happy accident with this one. I had used the more expensive nail enamel, It dried quick to a high gloss. The little paper pieces that were pressed in gave the black the look of real grout. I used less by accident on the vase making this more flat. I got a lot of depth out of this. Also the 3 top coats made the surface look like glass.
Thanks! sorry it's taken me awhile to reply. I've had my head up my butt of late.
I will certainly check those pebble mosaics out. I love anything mosaic! In fact I made these mini paper pieces because I wanted to do one that bad and was broke. LOL!
